Hi, I'm Christine and I own AdventureParent and this store.

How We Got Started

All my life I was the adventurous type, backpacking through Europe, biking in Moab, hiking Angel's Landing, exploring the jungles of Belize, or skiing in the Alps. When I got married my husband was also just as into adventure as I was, and we planned on not changing this a bit when we had kids. 

After our daughter was born we planned to share our love of adventure and take her on all kinds of trips. We quickly learned while we could definitely do it, it was a little trickier than we thought. It took a lot more planning and patience.

Kids are unpredictable and you have to adapt your plans to accommodate what they can handle.

However, we quickly got a feel for what was too much, and what was just right for planning adventures with our daughter. But we also know that every kid is different, so you need to be understand your kids and keep an open mind as well as know when to call it a day. 

After my divorce, I still continued on taking my daughter on all the great adventures I could manage. The memories we've

made over the years are irreplaceable. While we still go on lots of adventures toget

her, she's a little older now and so I'd like to be able to share all my learnings along the way, so that I can make make it a little easier for you to do the same with your family.  So I'm here to share all my learnings and love of gear with you.
